Re: Bloomfield Transit Authority
At our October 16th City Council Meeting several folks were in attendance to support the continuance of the Bloomfield Transit Authority. The City Council made a unanimous decision to do the following:
We will keep the public updated thru our media sites when someone is hired and the anticipated date the Transit Van will be available for our citizens. Until our service is available those needing transportation can contact SMTS at 573-624-8624.

Re: Bloomfield Transit Authority
At our October 16th City Council Meeting several folks were in attendance to support the continuance of the Bloomfield Transit Authority. The City Council made a unanimous decision to do the following:
- We will begin the search for a part time transit director/driver to work a maximum of 20 hours a week.
- The city council will review whether or not to continue this service after our physical year ends on June 30th, 2024. We will look at number of riders both regular and only occasionally, the cost to the city above what MoDot reimburses and the income derived from fee to ride the bus.
We will keep the public updated thru our media sites when someone is hired and the anticipated date the Transit Van will be available for our citizens. Until our service is available those needing transportation can contact SMTS at 573-624-8624.
